Hamble Valley Labour Party have written to Bluestar about improvements to the current local bus services.
Bluestar 14 runs into the evening but only serves the Station side of Hedge End.
Our Suggestion is for evening services only to extend the route from the superstores as follows: Superstores > Turnpike Way > Upper Northam Road > Hedge End Village > Bursledon Road > Heath House Lane > Kings Copse Avenue > Maypole Roundabout > Grange Road > Locke Road > Maunsell Way > back to normal route to station.
This achieves 2 things, it provides an evening service to more of Hedge End and provides access to Hedge End Station to the South of Hedge End.
We also believe there should be a service that runs from Southampton through Hedge End & Botley, to Whiteley through the some new housing estates at Curbridge. This will provide access to residents in all areas to Hedge End Stores or Whiteley shopping and entertainment.
Bluestar have replied that they will consider these improvements in future planning meetings and in discussions with Hampshire County Council.
Hampshire County Council have already received £13 million in funding from the Labour Government to support improvements to local bus services. So there can really be no excuse not to deliver.
